A Stunning Presentation that changes any wall into an artistic statement, this outstanding example of an Authentic Chi wara with headdress was actually used in ritual dances.

The Chi Wara is the mythical antelope that taught the Bambara (Bamana) people of Mali how to farm. The long horns represent hoes, the triangular cutouts sunshine and the fiber strands rainfall. In the ritual dance both male and female Chi Wara are represented. This is a female with young carved from a single log, with attached raffia, pierced nasal septum and detailed designs, its dark patina showing age.
